Islam must stop breeding terrorists

Prime Minister Stephen Harper (and others) have said that it's individuals and not the religion of Islam to blame for terror such as those recently arrested in Ottawa. So why is it that only Muslims are terrorists? Yes I know, Northern Ireland has had non-Muslim terrorists but not Canada and very rarely in other places. Why don't the politicians pause and think for a second? Perhaps there's something about Islam that encourages terror? Maybe we should take into account the fact that the Qur'an and many imams preach about the need to kill infidels and apostates (converts)? Harper, Obama and others are dead wrong - Islam the religion is breeding terrorists and not anything else. They should check into the situation. Islam is not like other religions - at least not yet.
Muslims are very aggressive about the idea that their religion is right and all others are not only wrong but should be banned. Not only that, but once they reach majority control of a country, they insist on making life difficult for non-Muslims. In Muslim society, if you are not Muslim, you are inferior - you are a dhimma. (More here. To be fair, not all Islamic edicts about dhimmis are followed). Many Muslim countries nominally allow other faiths (e.g. Christians, Hindu, Jews) but in practice, life is inferior unless you are a Muslim (and male). They are also adamant that their religion is right and no other option should even be considered (see this article and video) - there is absolutely no tolerance for other faiths in their thinking - at least in the official thinking as expressed by the preaching of imams and in the Qur'an.
With the recent arrests, many Muslims have expressed their concern at the fact that some of their "faithful" have taken it on themselves to implement the official teachings and kill some infidels and punish them for daring to try to liberate the people of Afghanistan from the tyranny of the extremist Taliban Muslims. Concern is not enough. Even the occasional sermon about how there should be no violence is not enough. A comparison with the Christian experience is useful. Jesus was quoted as saying that people should love their fellow man, that they should turn the other cheek. Many Christians talk about how Jesus taught peace. Yet for centuries, Christians went out and slaughtered others in the name of their god. The Crusades, the inquisition and many "Holy" wars come to mind. But now it is rare for Christians to do this. What changed? The Christian churches matured - they grew up. They chose to interpret the bible differently. That's what Islam needs to do. The imams need to re-interpret their Qur'an to find why it preaches tolerance and non-violence - then and only then will impressionable young men (that is, immature men) give up on looking to terror to solve their grievances.
What can these men do instead? Where can they channel their energies? They could join a political party or start their own - they could use democratic methods to promote their cause. This is what we do in Canada. If they want to continue with their methods as taught by Islam, as a minimum, they should go where it's wanted - like Pakistan.
If you come to Canada, adopt Canadian ways - that's why we have a good country. Don't take advantage of the freedom here to try to destroy our freedoms.
